An integrative methodology at the intersection of biology, psychology, lifestyle, and meaning.
SPNI® stands for Sinnregulative Psycho-Neuro-Immunology.
An integrative methodology connecting psychology, neuroscience, immunology, lifestyle and meaning.
I developed this integrative methodology to bring together different professional approaches and apply them to each person’s individual situation. It connects four central areas:
Clinical Psycho-Neuro-Immunology
The interaction between the mind, nervous system, immune system, and biological processes.

Logotherapy and Existential Analysis according to Viktor E. Frankl
Meaning, values, and personal orientation as important resources when dealing with challenging life situations.
Chronobiology
The importance of biological rhythms, particularly sleep, wakefulness, and regeneration.
Lifestyle Medicine
Nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress regulation, and other health-promoting lifestyle factors.
What does SPNI mean in practice?
SPNI does not view health in isolation, but rather in the interaction of different levels. Physical processes, psychological experience, lifestyle, and personal meaning are interconnected and can influence one another.
The aim is not to focus on individual symptoms in isolation or to change everything at once. Instead, the central question is:
What does this person need in their current situation – and what can meaningfully support their self-regulation and quality of life?
SPNI in Cancer Support
A cancer diagnosis can affect many areas of life simultaneously: the body, psychological well-being, everyday life, relationships, expectations for the future, and personal values. SPNI provides an integrative framework for supportive care. Alongside medical treatment, areas such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress regulation, personal resources, and questions of meaning can be considered.
The aim is to strengthen orientation, self-efficacy, and self-regulation, while developing practical and sustainable steps together.
SPNI Connects – Integrative and Complementary
SPNI is understood as a complementary approach to medical treatment. Oncological diagnostics and treatment remain the responsibility of the treating physicians. SPNI support does not replace or oppose medical treatment. It complements it by aiming to strengthen physical, psychological, and lifestyle-related resources, while supporting individual self-regulation and quality of life.
